Hurrah! I have finally had my dream bike!
Y'know, I have been searching for this bike since the last couple of months at the end of 2008. Geez, it took me quite a while to get one. The hunting began when I met a friend who is also a downhiller freak. He shared his experiences and knowledge of freeride and downhill bike. The afternoon chit chat then ended with a suggested best bike to buy for freeride. It's the Specialized SX Trail II. Yeah, baby..
Now, when I tossed the idea of buying the bike, all friends nodded that it's one of the best bike in the field. But some raised their eyebrows though wondering why I am buying such a bike since they know that my hardest and roughest playland is in Bukit Jimbaran areas and that I mostly take cross country ride. Are you really into freeriding now? Am I? Heheh looks like it. What's wrong with changing your areas of playing a little bit? Just a little bit..
So then I've made up my mind. Got to have one of those bike hahah! Then, I've tried my luck searching for a used one on the net. God heavens! It's really hard to find. I have located some though, one in Canada, UK, US, Australia, NZ and Malaysia. The price was outrageous thanks to the help of the unfavorable rate of exchange. Hicks hicks.. Luckily there was one in Jogja and it was owned by the same person that sold me the SX bike. Yes, his name is Doni Setiawan and you can bet your @$$ he has a lot of good bikes for FR and DH. His team is called Elgato and it's located in Central Java. He got me a good deal. Thanks bro!
Now, the bike is already built with the help of friends who have extensive knowledge on bike like Yanica, Arya, Gung Ar, Landung, Ade and Gozeng. You rock guys!
There's one thing left which is to test it to the limit! Hehe my limitations.. hahaha...
Will tell more stories and post some photos of the bike real soon. The bike isn't finish yet. The front wheel is still borrowing from Arya.. thanks broda. Will return it real soon hehehe...
